News sources from around the world, European edition
Sharing information is an act of resistance.
I'll be posting a list of the major news outlets from several different countries whose languages I speak, and all are linked to the website for your ease of browsing. The aim is to give you a starting point for exploring news from outside the US perspective, a jumping-off point to venture outside of the prescribed US-based gaze.
Note that, as is a trend given the general lack of adequate subsidies given to media outlets, some of these news sources are paywalled, or are paywalled but have a limited number of ‘free reads’ per month, or have some articles that are free and others that are paywalled. I’ve indicated all news outlets which have some form or level of paywalls with a [P]. Don’t let it discourage you, however, because the headlines (and often the first one or two paragraphs) are always visible and will already provide you with some information, and many of the websites are only partially locked and have the latest news available without barriers. If you have the means to, most subscriptions are not too expensive and the news is worth it, but to avoid needing to pay: usually googling the headline will show you other news sources reporting on the same topic, many of which will be free.

And finally, some English-language news sources from across Europe
The Brussels Times [P], the Luxembourg Times [P], Swiss Info, The Independent, Brussels Morning Newspaper, EUNews, Le Monde [P], DW, France 24, EuroNews, EuroActiv [P], POLITICO, The Guardian, the official European Union website are all sources seen through a European lens which are either entirely published in English, or have an English-language version of their website and news articles.
Censorship might work to suppress search results and show you less varied opinions across social media and your online sphere, but going directly to the sources means you decide what you see. I wanted you to have access to the sources so you can freely explore the news through an EU lens yourself. And remember: sharing accurate information is an act of resistance ✊ so if you come across news that needs to be seen, share it widely with friends and family!
Resist. Read. Rest. Regroup. Rise Up.
